MetLife Coverage Availability & Fees
When using your MetLife dental insurance to cover the cost of treatment, it’s important to remember the following:
- You must pay your monthly premium if you want access to your plan.
- Your preventive services will likely be covered at 100%, so biannual checkups and cleanings can cost you little to nothing out of pocket.
- If you require restorative care, your plan will cover 50-80% of the total cost, depending on the type of treatment you require (i.e., dental fillings, dental crown, root canal treatment, tooth extraction, etc.).
- Your benefits will only be good for one calendar year and will not roll over. This means your deductible will reset to $0 on January 1, and you’ll need to meet it again before you can receive additional financial help from MetLife.
- Your annual maximum is how much your insurance company agrees to pay in a single year. If you exceed this limit, any remaining funds will be your responsibility.
